This page is here to let parents and students know what is important in my classroom. I want you to know what I find essential to the learning process. We are all a team and we need to be on the same page!
School Day Expectations
Students need to arrive on time. If they plan to eat breakfast, they need to arrive early. We start our day with a routine and we move quickly into Power Half Hour. At this time, students go to different classrooms throughout the school to work on skills individualized to their needs. Arriving late causes students to miss this important time.
Students should read at home! Readers are leaders! Part of my job is to find things kids LOVE to read. They're welcome to take my books home, as long as they bring them back!
They are given optional homework that in encouraged. If a worksheet comes home on a night when there's a lot going on, save it for the next day! Save them all for the weekend! Whatever works for you works for me. As long as they're working hard, I'm happy!
